Recuperation of “Historic Casco”
The recuperation project for Historic Casco in Panama City involves a plan of integrated recuperation of urban infrastructure for the enhancement and development of the historic city.
Notable aspects are:
- a new sewage system for rainwater drainage;
- upgrading the existing waterworks system for improved function of fresh water collectors;
- constructing a sewage disposal system that favours the historic city’s environmental conditions;
- repaving with clay bricks and rebuilding sidewalks in the intervention area;
- burying electrical and telephone lines in critical areas;
- improving public lighting and street signage.
